Massage out performs medication in research study

Many of us believe that with the correct form of massage therapy or body work we can help relieve pain for multiple ailments.  As a massage therapist I have seen this proven true time and again.

More and more research is being done that helps support that massage therapy is a viable and much desired form of pain treatment.  In a research study performed by the Group Health Research in Seattle the benefits of massage were proven to exceed the benefits of medication in pain managment.  Please click here to read more about this study

There are many ways to treat pain and sometimes medication and or surgery are necessary.  However, it is important for people to know that options exist and they should never be afraid to ask about the use of massage to help manage their pain and reduce stress which in turn can help them sleep better and function more efficiently in their daily activities.
