Success in the Online Classroom

Posted by on January 30, 2012

Globe Education Network has great things happening in our online classes and we want to share with you about one instructor’s success.  Jeff Davis, Business Program Chair, has added a video or screencast to every unit in his course, Business Analysis Techniques.  Jeff added the videos to help students understand complex concepts and create an opportunity for visual learners to experience the classroom material in a different way.  Feedback from Jeff’s students has been positive.  One student stated that, “Jeff anticipated her questions before she had a chance to ask them.”  Students can expect to see the addition of video and screencasts to their online courses as the technology for faculty is becoming more user-friendly and widely available.

Jeff teaches a variety of courses in the business program, but most often Investments and the courses in the B.S. Business Management Finance Emphasis. Jeff started with GEN in 2004 and has been with Globe’s Online Division since 2007. Jeff has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance.  Jeff lives in Salt Lake City, Utah. When he is  not working you might find him entertaining his dogs, practicing his photography skills, watching or reading sci-fi, rowing, or playing computer games.
