Auld Lang Syne to 2011

Although we ring in the New Year with celebration and welcome Winter Quarter 2012 with cookies and milk, it is also a great time to reflect and appreciate the past year’s accomplishments.

MSB-St. Cloud hosted a number of amazing campus events this year, including career fairs, volunteer fairs, health fairs, blood drives and the hugely popular, Trunk or Treat community event for Halloween.

Students and staff lived our WE CARE mission by walking the Relay for Life to benefit the American Cancer Society, helping launch Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore facility in St. Cloud, and supporting local food shelves and homeless shelters through our dollars, donations and volunteerism.

We fostered dozens of service learning projects each quarter, building partnerships throughout central Minnesota, including Anna Marie’s Alliance, Boys and Girls Club, YMCA, the Tri-County Humane Society and Wills for Heroes.

We welcomed guests to campus at a Health Care Panel, and as expert speakers in their fields, and as our governing representatives.

Best of all, we celebrated our students–the reason we are here and keep smiling—with a fall chili cookoff, a summer barbecue, pancakes, hot dogs and ice cream sundaes. We celebrated our military students with a Warrior Resource Day and care packages sent to those actively deployed overseas. We celebrated our students daily with positive attitudes and open doors.

Looking back at 2011, it’s not hard to understand why we are so excited for what’s ahead in 2012!
