Two Students are Awarded for their Generosity

We are excited to announce two Minnesota School of Business Lakeville students won the Community Service Scholarship for Fall 2011 Quarter.  Christine Drentlaw and Sonja Johnson were both awarded a $2,000 scholarship for participating in an activity that benefited the community.

Christine enjoyed her Service Learning Project through her Global Citizenship class so much during her first quarter as an MSB student, she decided to recruit her family and do it again.  Christine brought her family to Feed My Starving Children and with the help of some boy scouts, her and her family were able to assist in providing 71 children with a meal each day for an entire year.

Sonja worked with the Wills for Heroes Program providing assistance with data entry tasks.  Sonja partnered with a volunteer attorney and was shown how to write wills for first responders and their spouses.  She learned the importance of good communication and teamwork are essential to working efficiently.

Both students not only helped out their community, but are recognized for their generosity and willingness to give to areas that are in need through the Community Service Scholarship.

Thank you for your Interest in Minnesota School of Business.
