David’s Did You Know?

Did you know there is an expense to dropping classes?

couple of months ago when I was preparing to start the Did You Know series I sat down with Yolanda, my financial aid partner here at the Elk River Campus, to come up with some ideas for this series.  She came up with this one and I thank her for it and give credit where credit is due.

Check out what dropping classes does to your cost of school:

1 class=4 credits(avg.)X $435 per credit =$1740

$1740 X (taking the class twice)= $3480 for one class

If you drop a total of 3 classes during your time at MSB you just spent an extra $5220

This will add about $60 per month to your monthly student loan payments for 10 years. That’s an additional $720 per year!

So, before you drop a class be sure to think about the repercussions and why you are dropping.  Often, you can work through whatever is causing you to struggle.
