Blaine Campus Toy Drive will Support Families with Children Battling Cancer

Posted by on November 28, 2011

Are you looking for a way to give back this holiday season? Join DECA and the Blaine campus as we collect toys in collaboration with OneForJoe, a local grass roots movement focused on providing assistance to people in need through a series of creative events. For this particular event, the toys will be given to Miracles of Mitch Foundation, an organization that provides support to families of children with cancer.

Toys will be collected from now until December 16. On December 17, the toys will be brought to Andover Cinema for an amazing event to wrap up the drive. This event will be held from 9-10:30, and is sure to be fun for the whole family. Santa Clause will be bringing his (live) reindeer. Attendees will have a chance to pet these majestic creatures, and take photos if they wish. There will be a private showing of the 2011 Smurfs movie at 10 a.m. for the first 200 guests with an unwrapped toy donation (at least one toy donation per family of 4). The movie theater will be decked out with decorations, holiday music, and a 15-foot Christmas tree for all of the toys to sit under!

The toy collection box is located in the student commons, just outside the Career Services office. If you have any questions about the toy drive or organizations we’re partnering with,  contact Meghan Hathaway, Communications & Community Relations Specialist, at mhathaway@msbcollege.edu or 763-225-8051. We hope you will consider donating a toy and/or attending the event.
