Meet the Edgar Allan Mo’s: MSB-Richfield’s Movember Movement

Posted by on November 7, 2011

Movember is a campaign ran each November since 2003 to raise funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that effect men. Male team members, known as Mo’s, donate their faces by growing a moustache during the campaign. Female team members, known as Mo Sista’s, do not grow moustaches, but are vital to the campaigns’ awareness.

The campaign’s edgy, modern approach has proven substantially and exponentially successful. In 2010, the Movember campaign globally raised $80.7 Million, a significant increase of $38.4 Million over 2009.  Official partners of the campaign include the Prostate Cancer Foundation, LIVESTRONG, and the Lance Armstrong Foundation.

MSB-Richfield’s team, The Edgar Allan Mo’s, include staff members Jamie Zamjahn, Drew Rodiles, Sam Kovar, and Red White. Heading up the student section of the team is active Nursing student Derek Cloutier.

“It’s a great cause to get behind, and fun to explain to your family why you have a moustache during Thanksgiving dinner,” Kovar said regarding his involvement.

Team donations can be made on their Movember team site:
