Medical Assistant students from Minnesota School of Business in Blaine visited White Pine Senior Living to practice checking vitals with residents. Dan Peterson, Medical Assistant Program Chair at the Blaine campus, brought his CMA Review class, as an opportunity to practice their skills, while interacting with the residents. “Each of them will need to greet patients in a waiting room one day, and this practice is important,” he said.
The students broke into two groups and visited the rooms of most residents. They took turns practicing checking vitals, recording, and comparing the records.
CMA Review is a summary course that assists the students in preparation for the medical assistant certification, through review of critical clinical skills and professional development.
