Ben Blue (Safety Coordinator) and Josh Schmitt (Financial Aid Administrator) recently competed in the wildly popular Warrior Dash event at Afton Alps. The two-day competition, which is being held in 33 locations across the country, attracted nearly 20,000 entrees in Minnesota.
The Warrior Dash website described the course at Afton Alps as “3.02 hellish miles” which included 12 obstacles, including cargo nets, barricade walls, barbed wire, fire, a mud pit and more.
“The most difficult part wasn’t so much the obstacles but the hills (the event was at Afton Alps so we were going up and down ski hills).” Schmitt, who placed 983rd overall in Sunday’s race said. “The most fun part was crossing the finish line and the sense of accomplishment that accompanied it.”
Blue claimed 3,231st overall during Sunday’s race out of 8,883 finishers. Competitors received a Warrior Dash t-shirt, Warrior helmet and a medal upon finishing.
