Mark your calendars for Minnesota School of Business, Blaine campus’s Early Fall quarter Student Appreciation Day/Small Business Expo on August 3rd. The day will be filled with games, contests, prizes, state-fair themed food, and networking with local small business owners.
At 11:30, just outside the main doors of the school, the event will begin with an obstacle course involving 3 pairs of students, who will compete to cut the hair of Julie Kresh, Service Learning Coordinator. The hair will be donated to Locks of Love, a non-profit organization that provides hair-pieces to disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medical hair loss. All are invited to watch this competition and cheer for your favorite team!
A variety of delicious food will be served, including mini donuts, cotton candy, assorted types of food-on-a-stick, caramel apples, and root beer. Food will be available from 11:30-1 and 4:30-6 p.m.
The Small Business Expo will take place in the Student Commons from 1 – 6 p.m. Visit with a variety of small business owners, learn about their products and services, pick up some samples, and enter to win some fantastic prizes!
Students, staff, and faculty are also invited to participate in the Seed Art contest. Examples are outside the Career Services office. Pick up supplies from Julie Kresh July 28 – August 2 to create your masterpiece. All submissions are due August 2 at 10 p.m. to Julie Kresh or the front desk, and will be displayed for voting August 3rd. All are encouraged to vote!
